Business English Emails: Use formal and informal emails to assign a project

Updated: Nov 22, 2018

Assign a project by email. Compare a formal and an informal business English email.

Formal Business Email.

In the email below, Kenny Burns, the senior project manager, is writing an email to Mrs. White to assign her a project.

This is a great example of a professional email. It’s well-organized to communicate clearly and the language is professional and appropriate.

Informal Business Email

In this email below, Kenny uses a much more informal style and much more informal language to communicate with Jenny [not Mrs. White]

It’s clear from this informal email that Kenny knows Mrs. White very well so he uses an informal email to communicate with her.
